LMU-DCOM was established in 2007 in Harrogate, Tennessee, with the mission of placing primary care doctors in Appalachia and the surrounding area. Since then it has graduated 1,327 doctors, many of whom work in East Tennessee and the surrounding states. 1st and 2nd year students spend time at main campus diving into the academic ciriculum, while 3rd and 4th year students are spread out across 9 states learning how to apply their medical education in the hospital setting.
